1 Coverage may be subject to exclusions and limitations.

2 Eligible medical emergency expenses are defined in your Certificate of Insurance. Payment of eligible medical emergency expenses is subject to our Administrator's approval.

3 212 days for British Columbia, Manitoba, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Alberta, Ontario and New Brunswick. 182 days for all other provinces.

4 Answering a health-related questionnaire is required to determine eligibility for this product. Depending on your eligibility, all pre-existing conditions will be covered.

A report recently prepared for a large international travel service and banking company found out that travel and tourism accounted for almost $ 2 trillion of the sales in 1987, making it the largest source of employment in the world. Personal travel constituted about two thirds  of this, leaving the rest for business and government travel.

The biggest spenders on personal travel were the US, Japan, Germany, Britain and France; and in most of these developed countries it was the third largest item of household spending after housing and food. Tour operators say the industry is experiencing a second 10 revolution .

Quite a few things are worth arranging while you re still at home lining up these details before you travel is a big part of having a smooth trip.

Check your passport expiration ; you may be denied entry into certain European countries if your passport is due to expire within three months of your ticketed date of return. Get it renewed if you ll be cutting it close.

Make reservations well in advance, especially during peak season, for accommodations. popular restaurants, major sights. and local guides.

Call your debit- and credit-card companies to let them know the countries you ll be visiting, to ask about fees, and more. Get your bank s emergency phone number in the US (but not its 800 number) to call collect if you have a problem. If you don t know your credit card s PIN code, ask your bank to mail it to you.

Travel + Leisure takes platform approach to raise output over 700 percent

For publishers,  using unpaid contributors is a way to grow audience without breaking the bank. But it also can lead to quality control issues when their posts misfire, as Forbes and Thought Catalog have discovered .

Time Inc.’s Travel + Leisure is trying for a middle ground by opening up to a coterie of experts. Like all Time Inc. titles, T+L is on an aggressive digital growth push as print pages decline, by increasing its publishing volume from 12 posts a week to more than 100. To do so, it s calling in reinforcements.

When it relaunches April 8 in print and online, Travel + Leisure will lean on a small network of experts in a topic or place, like current contributors Alexandra Marshall, Ted Loos and Andrea Bennett ultimately, between 50 and 100. They’ll be paid like freelancers, per post.
