The idea for Travel With Kids came from the many questions we got about traveling with our kids. A trip to Spain, Morocco Ireland when Nathan was 11 months old. A trip to NYC when they were 3 and 1. Several trips to Mexico.

How do you get baby food. Do they have diapers? How do you know where to go, how to get around?

Other countries have babies too. And they have baby food and diapers, just like we do. Same brands. Unlike the USA, other countries primary source of income is tourism, so every street corner has a bus, taxi, travel agent, train. You can get where ever you want to go, when ever you want. Down the street, or to another country.

With backgrounds in TV production and marketing, we decided to make a video in Puerto Rico showing how to do this (Travel With Kids Caribbean.) 7 years later, here we are.

Our shows do not replace the traditional guidebook, but rather show parents and kids it is possible, and amazing to go. Go to Peru. Go to Cost ... Read more »

#Travel Nurse

Overview

It’s true—there is a job that enables you to travel the country in a high-paying position while also helping people—that of the travel nurse. Travel nurses work as temporary fill-ins for people on sick or maternity leave, or help out during local emergencies or nursing staff shortages. A nurse must be an RN to become a travel nurse and the job duties correspond with the area of a nurse’s specialty—essentially the same duties the nurse would have within a healthcare establishment closer to home.

Requirements

Education

A travel nurse must have an RN degree. There are three pathways to becoming a registered nurse. A hospital-based nursing school, which usually takes four years to complete; an associate’s degree in nursing, which generally takes two years (followed by another 1-2 years of schooling for a bachelor’s degree); or a bachelor’s degree (four years) in nursing (BSN). The American Association of Colleges of Nur ... Read more »

In September 2015, I visited Reykjavik, Iceland with a good friend. We were only there for a 3-day weekend, but during that time, we met so many interesting people and fellow travelers that it inspired me to make up my own life plan. I ve been lucky enough to travel and study abroad throughout my life, and I see no reason why that should end with a full-time 9-5 job.

I started working two weeks before I had even graduated from university. Without any transition period between school and real-life, I spent most of my early 20s busy making a career and being responsible.

It wasn t until I met people my same age from all over the world (doing very different things than what I was doing) that I was inspired to take some action. It just seemed unfair to think they had all these amazing stories to tell, and here I was, beginning to feel more and more complacent in my generally comfortable life.

It was on my IcelandAir flight back from Reykjavik to Boston that I rea ... Read more »

Tourism in Antarctica started in the 1950’s with 500 lonely soles traveling from Chile and Argentina. These days, about 40,000 people a year make the trek to the natural, unspoiled beauty of the world’s most southern continent. At twice the size of Australia, this land of ice, snow, rock and water, and vast wilderness gives many visitors a feeling of insignificance due to the sheer enormity of Antarctica. Add to this the adventure of getting here across the Southern Ocean and you have the trip of a lifetime and a wonderful feeling of accomplishment.

The haunting landscape of Antarctica is home only to temporary residents. Researchers and scientists make up most long-stay visitors, with short-term summer travelers keeping the continent’s biggest industry – tourism - afloat. What visitors see during their trip is largely dictated by their mode of arrival, with those flying into the interior able to take small flights to other locations, such as Vinson Massif or the South Pole. ... #Travel Portland - Grady Britton

GB’s work for Travel Portland is focused on driving meeting planners to choose Portland as their next event’s destination. Meeting planners want easy access to quick facts to speed their decision—meetings are complex and technical. They also need to feel their attendees will have a great time once the meetings are over—and presenting a lively city is key.

Approach

How do you sell Portland to the world? You show the world a snapshot of everything that goes on in our city, every second, of every day. We re not known for one thing; we re remembered for a hundred things: the food, the sights, the activities, the no sales tax. and on and on.

We produced an anthemic video for national use that highlights Portland for large scale sales meetings. A library of more segmented videos and an online ad program complements our main message, and drives visits to TravelPortland.com .

#Travel Nurse Salary, Pay, and Compensation Rates
