Getting the lowest airfares possible has become more complicated since the internet became mainstream. There are so many sites and so many different options that its hard to tell if you really got the best price.

Here are some tricks you can use to make sure you are paying the least amount of money possible:

Secret #1: Call the airline you want to fly on - many of the airlines will give you lower rates that you can get on sites such as Travelocity, Expedia, Hotwire, etc. Why? Because these sites are acting like travel agents and get some sort of fee from the airline for processing the reservation. The airlines simply pass some of the savings on to people who contact them directly. I have saved as much as 5-15% so its definitely worth making the phone call.

2. Check with the airline for special deals which may include discount packages where you get a rental car at below market rates. About a year ago, I called Northwest Airlines to get a ticket to Salt Lake City. I asked the customer service representative if they had any good deals. She told me they had a special going right now with Avis where I could get a free economy car for the weekend when I got a ticket directly from Northwest.

3. Sometimes, you can save big money by traveling to another airport and then flying round trip from there. Check the airfares from other airports within reasonable driving distance 3-4 hrs. Sure, its a hassle, but the rewards may be worth $50 an hour for each hour you drive. Don't forget to include your gas costs when calculating how much money you will save.

4. You can very often save money When you get hotel, rental car and airfare from the same place at the same time. For these special combo deals, visit Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity and others. Hotels, rental car companies and airlines often make unused blocks or rooms, cars and tickets available at discount prices to maximize the use of their inventory.

5. Check out airline last minute getaways. Especially Northwest Airlines. They seem to have unbelievable deals to major destinations if you are a little flexible with your schedule.

6. Secret tip: Ask your ticket agent if there are any better rates or fares than the one you got. AAA, AARP, others negotiate special deals for their members. With a little persuasio skill you may get those discounts too, even though you're not a member!

Hopefully these secrets will help you get the best rate you can for your next flight. If you are little flexible and check every option, you can save a bundle of money.

So, what will I actually be doing?

Tour operators require reps to work throughout the summer and winter seasons to ensure that holiday makers have an enjoyable trip. You're the first point of contact for customers so be prepared to answer questions and resolve problems.

Your day will usually start with meeting the excited new arrivals at the airport and overseeing transfers to their accommodation. From there your duties may include:

Giving an introductory talk on the facilities and the area
Accompanying holidaymakers on excursions
Helping to arrange entertainment
Completing paperwork (yes, even reps have admin )

Of course, holidays rarely run completely smoothly and you may need to deal with unexpected dilemmas from lost passports to medical emergencies, so be prepared to deal with anything.

The summer season runs from April to September and the winter season (ski reps) work October to December. And it's not as easy as it looks, definitely not a nine to five position, you’ll be on the go for 12 hours a day, six days a week.

So what can you do when the holiday season is over? People who love working as a holiday rep can progress to becoming team leaders or resort managers. Others find work as a travel agent or tour guide. The skills you learn as a holiday rep (customer service. time management, events organising) are transferable to many other careers so it looks great on your CV .

Money, money, money

Newcomers will earn about £450 to £500 per month while more experienced reps can earn up to £800 per month. But there are plenty of bonuses including:

Free accommodation
Reduced or free meals at the hotel
Free flights to and from your location
Reduced holiday costs from the tour operator

If you've ever gone away and seen the reps leading a pub crawl, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was all sunbathing and partying, but it you'd be wrong, it's as much hard work as it is fun.

Is there study involved?

There are no set requirements to become a holiday rep but many tour operators are looking for four GCSEs (grade C or above) and experience working in customer care. You also need to be aged 18 plus (sometimes this can be 21 and over).

Applicants with.

A qualification in the industry (such as a BTEC Diploma in travel and tourism)
A working knowledge of one or more foreign languages
Administrative experience

. will find themselves a step ahead of the rest. A qualification in childcare is essential for anyone wanting to work as a children’s rep running holiday clubs.

Once your application has been successful you'll need to complete an intense 2 to 4-week induction course run by the tour operator. The course will cover subjects such as health and safety, dealing with customer complaints, organising excursions and exchange rates.

These special Honeymoon packages, meticulously planned and perfectly executed, were a unique proposition. of aromatic atmosphere, cause all your co-travellers, are also on their Honeymoon, along with all the other benefits, of a group tour. This prompted, the famous Gujrati Magazine Chitralekha to, come out with a cover story on this pioneering venture in the year 1989.

Today Heena Tours Travels operates from its own 1000 sq. ft. 5 offices just in Vile Parla out of which one is the Head Office. 12 Sales offices, in key Tourist Markets of Bangalore, Indore, Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Indore, Chennai, Kolhapur and Nadiad . Heena tours operates fixed departure Brochure tours on a weekly basis, to all the important Tourist circuits like Rajasthan, Himachal, Kashmir, Uttaranchal, Kumaon, Sikkim, Kerala, Karnataka-Tamilnadu, with their vegetarian catering team accompanying all the tours. Heenatours has 300 personals, on its rolls, consisting of Tour managers, Escorts, Catering staff, and Sales team.

Heenatours is currently doing a turnover of Rs. 150 Crores per annum. and has a market share of about 52 % in the special Honeymoon and Group Tours market segmental. Heena Tours have launched Heena Lite for Heena lovers on a budget solution service and pricing. We have also launched adventure trip tours and of course the most famous milk and cheese tours.
