#Don’t pay huge prices for travel-sized toiletries

Are you one of a growing number of people who tend to travel hand luggage only in an attempt to avoid the cost of checked-in bags? If so, you may be throwing unnecessary money away by paying over the odds for your travel-sized toiletries.

Regular travellers will now be au fait with the 100ml liquid rule when passing through security but if, as a result of these restrictions you tend to buy mini versions of your normal toiletries at the airport, did you know that you could be paying as much as 750% more for the privilege?

Research by TravelSupermarket uncovered that travellers can end up paying 753% more per millilitre for mini toiletries than for their standard-sized counterparts and, in some cases, can actually end up paying more for a smaller version.

The currency of Greece is the euro. When travelling outside of the UK, you should take more than one means of payment with you (cash, debit card, credit card). Visitors to Greece should be aware of the possibility that banking services – including credit card processing and servicing of ATMs – throughout Greece could potentially become limited at short notice.

The government of Greece announced on 28 June an extended bank closure until at least close of business on 6 July. The Greek government is limiting withdrawals using cards issued by Greek banks to €60 per day. #Expedia Inc acquires Travelocity in $280 million deal

(Reuters) - Expedia Inc (EXPE.O ) has acquired online travel agency Travelocity from technology company Sabre Corp (SABR.O ) for $280 million in cash, the companies said in a statement on Friday, as consolidation in the online booking industry continues.

The deal follows a 2013 marketing agreement in which Expedia Inc's technology powered platforms for Travelocity's U.S. and Canadian websites, while Travelocity drove additional web traffic to Expedia.

The merger marks further consolidation in the online booking space, which has seen a number of acquisitions from Expedia Inc's main competitor, The Priceline Group (PCLN.O ), including its $2.6 billion takeover of restaurant reservation website OpenTable last year.

Online travel giant Expedia has agreed to acquire big-name competitor Travelocity.

On Friday, Expedia said it would acquire Travelocity from its parent company, Sabre Corp. for $280 million. With the deal, Expedia is once again expanding its broad portfolio of travel sites, amid increased competition in the market.

The Bellevue, Washington-based company also owns Hotels.com, Hotwire, Egencia, and others. But it still faces competition from big names Priceline and Orbitz and other players.

The company s latest move brings together two of the market s largest travel services, but in a way, they were already together. Since 2013, Expedia has powered Travelocity’s US and Canadian websites as well as its customer service program, and it has shared its hotel offerings with the company.
