Searching for easy economical travel arrangements? Looking for a cheap flight and easy? How do you arrange your travel options to get the biggest bang for your buck?

Be flexible. If you don't have a set schedule then think about traveling in the off season and eh off days. You may think of your vacations as starting on Sunday and ending on Saturday. However, if you can get that old standard out of your head you have a lot to gain by the mid week empty seat arrangement of the airlines.

Business runs on a 9 to 5 Monday thru Friday schedule, so most of the business seats comply with that. As for the family traveler, they tend to be stuck on the same treadmill with the added increase travel around the holidays. Airlines know this so their pricing schedule takes this into account. If you can side step this by taking a red eye, or the early morning flight, you can save on your tickets.

If you have to the opportunity to now 60 day ahead of time where you need to be ... Read more »

Determine the airport where you wish to arrive. Although most major carriers fly to McCarran International Airport, other regional airports may provide access within the area at a lower price. When deciding the best deal for you, calculate and add in the cost of ground transportation to and from the regional airport if you are not planning to rent a car. Shuttle and taxi services often charge a flat rate for airport transportation and will list that on their website or give the information to you when you call.

Visit airline websites directly. Keep your origin and destination airports the same on the search page but adjust the travel dates to compare fares. Las Vegas tends to attract tourists on weekends and surrounding days, so traveling on those days may result in higher fares. Add round-trip baggage fees if you will be checking a bag to determine the total cost for the flight.

We all know when we go to Las Vegas we can either leave with nothing or leave with a lot ... Read more »

The answer: It depends. That said, here are some things to consider if you’re visiting Amsterdam, Madrid, Florence or Paris.

Comfortable with a shower in the middle of your room? You just might be ready for a stay at this property that’s six miles outside the city center.

This property, which opened a year ago in a former diamond factory, offers warmth and personality just a 10-minute stroll from notable museums.

What compels people to return to the same place or experience repeatedly? Answers from nine writers take you to Athens and Berlin, Paris and Granada — and beyond.

Walks in the city can evoke figures from the past, from Rembrandt to Anne Frank, who continue to have profound stories to tell.

This strikingly original spot, with a name to match, opened last August and was awarded two Michelin stars in November.

A little planning can locate the best airline prices even for first class. (Photo: John Rowley/Digital Vision/Getty Images )

Airlines often prove to be the fastest way to connect two destinations, especially if they are across the country or around the world. However, they can also be the most expensive way to travel, especially with constantly rising fuel prices. But savvy travelers know that a little research and following a few tips can save money. These tips can frequently save time and hassle as well because they use less crowded times and airports.

Step 1

Determine a baseline price. Unless you are well schooled in the intricacies of airline travel, you may only have the vaguest notion of how much airfare is between two places. And if the journey involves unfamiliar cities, you may have no idea of the cost. Visit travel websites, where you can specify destinations, dates and classes of travel to receive a list of airlines and their airfares. Sort the lis ... Read more »

Over 7 years we've traveled, met and selected hundreds of spotters worldwide. They write about their favorite local hot spots in the city they really love.

We met each other while traveling in New York. It was a cold night in November and I didn’t want to go to my overcrowded hostel. Daniel was cycling on the quite street in the Bronx while I was walking the opposite way. Both of us just looked at each other, and I blurted out "You look Parisian!" in French.

Daniel stopped, we had a short talk and he invited me to a romantic local c ... Read more »

Traveling is always fun, but paying for the ticket isn t.

Having flown around world on a budget, I ve learned a lot about getting the best bargains.

The following are tips for finding the best airfare price online. Using these tips will save you hundreds or thousands on you next flight.

Cheapest Ticket = “Buying time” + “Flexibility with dates” + “Type of ticket” + “Airfare Website”

Purchase your ticket within a month or two before your departure, 2 weeks the latest.

During this period canceled and undesirable tickets become available.

Search between 11 pm 3 am for tickets.

Because of the low traffic, the airfare sites normally offer lower rates. Therefore, avoid buying during daytime, as business is booming and the discounts become hard to find.

Search for bargains throughout the week at different times of the day.

This helps you get a better image of the pricing.

Families traveling together can often save money by buying family policies. Buy one that fits your family: If the standard policy is for two parents and two kids, and you have three kids, you may have to pay extra. Some family policies don't charge for kids at all. Travel Guard and Travel Safe are both recommended by Insurance Review. Travel Safe covers up to seven family members for a trip costing up to $30,000. If you are planning adventure activities, make sure it's covered or buy an extra rider.

Adventure travelers often need special coverage. People engaging in extreme sports such as mountaineering, rock climbing, scuba diving or other activities that expose them to considerable risk usually need to buy riders to cover the risk of injury during a trip. Some of these policies also cover lost or damaged sporting goods equipment. Normal emergency medical travel insurance does not cover these costs. With one such policy, called Patriot Extreme, the average U.S. citizen, age ... Read more »
