I booked a flight through Kayak for Travelocity, and I regret it. It was impulsive, and now I feel uneasy about my reservation. Travelocity.com does not recognize the TripID given by Kayak (although you can find the booking on My Trip on Kayak) and the airline initially did not recognize the reservation either.

After I called Kayak/Travelocity customer service line, which is clearly outsourced overseas and entailed about a 15 minute wait, I engaged in goofy debate with someone reading from a script. I finally managed to convince them to stop reading the script and focus on my question. He did a little digging and he agreed with me that the Travelocity Trip ID and airline record locator were not working. About 15 minutes later, the customer rep hung in there with me and determined that it was because when the airline asked for first name to locate the reservation, the record reflected my first and middle name as one name.

So, even though the Kayak/Travelocity customer service rep was ok and he did figure out the problem once you got him past the scripted information, it still look me about awhile to square away what I needed. Plus, Travelocity still does not recognize the trip at all. So, if I have problems with this flight, I have NO idea what I am going to do. I think I will be screwed.

I should have booked directly with the airline. Ugh. I have no sense of comfort here.
