#travel star # Travel Channel Star GuidelinesAre You a Travel Channel Star?Travel Channel experts will judge the 3-round competition with help from fans, who can vote for their favorite videos online. Five lucky semifinalists will travel to host a video segment, where they’ll face a series of challenges in hopes of making it to the final round. The winner will be revealed in a 1-hour Travel Channel TV special hosted by Bert Kreischer and will be given the opportunity to host their own 5-part web series. Here’s what we’ll be looking for in your submissions:We want to see you in action! --Shoot footage of you talking to the camera --Tell us your full name, where you are from and what your “Travel Specialty” is --Vary up your shots, we like a combination of wide shots to set the scene and close ups of details --Pick a place or topic you love and are excited about --Show off yourself and your location – highlight what you love about it Give us a story, by shooting … --Yourself in a travel environment that matches your specialty (ie: park, zoo, local attraction, unique shop, eating or drinking establishment) --Yourself explaining what makes that location special – but the camera doesn’t have to always be on you, show us the environment around you as you talk --Yourself giving a tour of that location --Yourself giving a summary of your story to wrap things up The specifics:--Use a home video camera or if you don t own one, the video camera function on your smart phone will be fine --Videos should be no more than 2 minutes in length --If using a phone, hold it horizontally for a wide view, not a tall view --Audio is important. Make sure you and anybody else who appears speak up and are close enough to the camera to have your voices recorded clearly --Do not include music or logos --Stereo audio with a sample rate of 44,100 Hz
