Booking an international flight online requires minimal effort on websites that offer lists of flight times and rates. You can book international travel on your credit or debit card and receive an e-ticket and email confirmation within 24 hours. Electronic booking allows you to bypass airport lines by offering electronic check-in options at international airports.

Step 1

Choose the international city and country that you wish to fly into. Look up the airports that serve the city or region. Write down the airport codes. Flying in and out of the larger or main airport of a city typically offers more airline options and increased potential for direct flights.

Step 2

Search online at discount airfare sites such as Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, Priceline and Cheaptickets or go to the official sites of international airlines to check flight times, rates and departure and arrival cities that airlines fly to and from. Type the names or codes of your departure and international arrival airports. Choose your dates of travel. Pick between a one-way, round-trip or multi-destination international flight. Enter the amount of passengers and flight preferences such as non-stop or one-stop. Click "Find Flights."

Look through the list of flights and rates on the next page. Choose the international flight with rates and times that appeal to your budget and international travel schedule.

Proceed to the billing page and enter your billing information and a valid email address to receive your international flight confirmation. Print the confirmation page and pack it with your credit card, passport and identification to use when checking in for your overseas flight.
