American Airlines

When booking flights to Dominica, you have the option of landing at either:

Melville Hall (DOM), which is 60 minutes drive to Roseau, or Canefields (DCF) which is 15 minutes drive to Roseau.

Contact numbers for the airports:

Melville Hall ++1 767 445 7051

Canefields ++1 767 449 1242

Both of our airports have well appointed terminals with all of the facilities you will expect to see at any international airports.

The flight times will obviously vary depending where you are flying in from. Be prepared for a long flight with at least one change along the way.

A few words of advice. Please ensure that you are arriving at the airport that is nearest to your hotel. This will avoid unnecessary cross-island travel. Unless of course you are eager to see our beautiful landscape.

Many people use the opportunity of a change to visit at least one of the other Caribbean islands such as Antigua or Barbados. Some people like to spend a few hours or even a day or two on one of the other islands before completing their flights to Dominica. While you are here we know of a great guest house in Maoucherie where you can stay.Rachelle's Retreat. Highly recommended!

One of the advantages of getting flights to Dominica is that you will be able to experience the island from high in the sky. It really is a magnificent view.

Important note:

As with all air travel, there are a few points that you must observe:

  • Make sure you have your travel documents (including passport and travel tickets) with you before leaving home or your hotel !
  • Try not to wear excessive metal objects as this will set off the metal detectors and slow down your passage through the airport security gates.
  • If you must carry metal e.g. keys, etc. make sure they are all in an easy to reach place. ( A good idea is to put all of your metallic objects into a single bag, then just hand that bag over at the security gate, before you go through the metal detector.)
  • If you have any metallic implants in your body, try and obtain a medical certificate for them before travelling.
  • We are all now limited to one carry-on bag and one personal item. The personal item could include things such as a laptop or a purse (you will probably find that your set of golf clubs don't count!)
