#air travel booking # Airlines, Booking Sites Fall After Travel WarningD elta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL ), Priceline (NASDAQ: PCLN ), Carnival (NYSE: CCL ) and other travel-related stocks were down Tuesday after the State Department issued a global travel warning late Monday in the wake of the attacks in Paris and the lockdown in Brussels. The travel alert will run until February as "ISIL (aka Daesh), al-Qaida, Boko Haram and other terrorist groups continue to plan terrorist attacks in multiple regions." The alert added: "Exercise particular caution during the holiday season and at holiday festivals or events." Delta shares closed down 3.1% in the stock market today. American Airlines (NASDAQ: AAL ) closed down 2.5%; United Continental (NYSE: UAL ) fell 3%. Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV ) lost 2.6% and JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU ) fell 1.7%. Carnival shares ended down 2%. Royal Caribbean Cruises (NYSE: RCL ) dropped 3.1%. while Norwegian Cruise Line (NASDAQ: NCLH ) fell 1.8%. Travel booking sites were also Tuesday. Priceline fell 1.9%. Expedia (NASDAQ: EXPE ) shares finished 2.9% lower. TripAdvisor (NASDAQ: TRIP ) lost 2.2%. The busy holiday travel season just started, with travelers headed home or on vacation for Thanksgiving. And already, airlines have had to deal with cancellations and delays due to a snowstorm in the Midwest over the weekend.
