I was refer to Yvette and Imperial Travel by a friend. It was a great referral.

I have been a Latin America travel kick the last few years ( Costa Rica 3 times, Guatemala, Panama twice, Dominican Republic). Prior to discovering Imperial Travel. I was like the vast majority who now book tickets online with Kayak and Orbitz. etc.- it is convenient and easy, but it certainly comes with the annoyance of terrible customer service ( if you ve ever needed to book a multi-destination trip, made an error with booking your ticket, or needed to change your itinerary mid-trip, you understand!!). The fist couple times I booked with Imperial Travel, I looked online to find tickets and prices first. Then I called to see if they could find me the same ticket at a better value, or could offer me a better itinerary. The savings aren t necessarily huge ( sometimes, I pay the same price as I would have online), but the added advantage of booking through a real person is great. I love getting advice, and I like knowing that I am dealing with a real person. I had thought that all travel agencies had become obsolete with the online options for booking your own travel, but Imperial Travel proves their not. ) You get great friendly customer service with great prices. and you get to feel good about supporting a great, local, family run business :)

Anytime I hear about someone planning travel to Latin America, I am excited to give them my travel tip, and send them to Imperial Travel.

If you are booking a trip, you can cross-check against online engines first; however if you want to just book it and be done, you can trust that when you call you will get the best price ( I don t even bother to look online fist anymore :) ). Yvette is also very efficient and gets your travel booked quickly. You can pay with credit card, and they also offer a small discount if you pay by cash or check.

Of course they cater to Spanish speakers, as well as English, which is a bonus for those who may have difficulty booking in English.

You may have to leave a message, as Yvette is often busy with several clients, but she is always prompt in getting back to you quickly.

Anyhow, this is one of those companies you love, since it kinda feels like you are getting something for free ( ie. customer service along with your good deal, instead of getting the same ticket online with absolutely no service. kinda makes the decision easy :) ).
