DUE TO RECENT DEATHS OF PANDAS IN CHINA FROM DISTEMPER, THE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM HAS BEEN SUSPENDED FOR THE PRESENT TIME

Few things are as delightful as observing the wonders of the Giant Panda first hand.  Even though Pandas International is located in Littleton, Colorado (a suburb of Denver) and not in China, we CAN offer experience-based advice on volunteering opportunities with the pandas for the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Pandas (CCRCGP).  The Bifengxia Panda Center is currently accepting visitors, but due to the 2015 Earthquake, the Wolong center is closed to volunteers until construction of the new center is completed and the volunteer program is reinstated.  Visitors at the Bifengxia center can spend hours watching the playful cubs, or, they can volunteer and provide hands on help to the pandas keepers.

If you are interested in volunteering, you will need to arrange your own travel to and from China and to and from the Bifengxia Panda Center. The travel agencies listed below offer  assistance in arranging both travel and lodging.  Once you have travel arranged, you may contact the Bifengxia Panda Center with the dates you plan on volunteering at the reserve. Depending on the time of year and the tour you select, volunteer service will cost approximately $100 per day for lodging, food, uniforms, etc.  In order to volunteer,  you should be in generally good health and the Panda Center requires you to have a medical form filled out prior to arriving. The Bifengxia Panda Center or Pandas International can e-mail you the medical form.   Children under the age of 10 are generally not allowed to volunteer.
