#Traveling Journal Website Update: We Have A New Format! For my new visitors! Hey there, I’m Javier Huaraz! My father is a Mexican and my mother is a full born American. I was born in America, but my father wanted to get me to learn his roots. Currently, we live in Mexico. For my old visitors, the old radio station-and-blog is now gone. Kaput. Smithereens. It’s not that I’ve grown bored of radios, but I found something more compelling. Today, I love travelling more than radio programs. I’ve become an avid traveler myself. I’ve gone to the Carribeans first the last three years (the date of the last radio post in the former Radio Melodia website format where I said goodbye). When I went there, I was captivated by the sounds and sight of people. I loved how they incorporated their culture into their music. In short, that very experience definitely touched my soul. I decided then that since I’ve temporarily halted the activities of Radio Melodia, I’d rather have it become a travel blog of sorts. I kept the name because Radio Melodie definitely resonated with me. It’s been 12 years since I registered this URL and honestly, it holds sentimental value for me. I loved showcasing local Mexican music in my radio shows. I loved creating playlists for both national and international musicians. I really loved music, but I guess it was time for me to move on with my interests. So I went travelling. I went to Iceland and Norway and appreciated the fjords. I said to myself I’d love to write about them. I also saw the lush forests of the tropical countries in the down under. I was so enthralled with the experience that I wanted to dedicate my life to traveling. However, when somebody introduced me to backpacking, I definitely wanted to change the way I lived my life and my interests. Backpacking allowed me to explore the depths of my patience and resourcefulness. I wasn’t getting any special accommodations. I wasn’t getting any special treatment. All I had was myself and a city and land full of adventures. To this, I said, traveling is definitely something else. The future held for Radio Melodia does not capitalize on music anymore. Although I will feature some music, it would be because it suits the mood of my newest post, or because it is culturally-related to my current posts. I loved listening to the music of other cultures. I was so engorged in listening and understanding the message of these songs that root from their history that it feels like it is a part of me. Of course, most of my new visitors would be wanting tips and strategies once they land in Southeast Asia, Asia or the Middle East. These tips would include budgets, assessments and getting to places while you’re on a budget. There are many different ways to enjoy a travel location, and I’ll prove that to you right here on this blog. So, What Do You Think? I think it’s a pretty good idea to start a travel blog like this. Traveling has now become my passion and for my older readers, I’m sorry. But I’m still upholding the Mexican culture itself, not just the music, because culture is music itself played on a different instrument.
