#norway travel # Fjord Norway, Skiing, Vikings, Lofoten, northern lights, Hurtigruten, cities - and MoreNorway is the western part of Scandinavia, with a small population (less than 5 million) and many great places to visit, whether you want fjords, mountains and skiing or culture, history and lovely cities. Oslo is the capital with many good museums; Bergen is surrounded by mountains, is the southern end of the Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Voyage and has the Bryggen world heritage site; Stavanger is the small city with big city restaurants, nightlife and facilities plus top attractions in and around the city; Kristiansand is the warm popular capital of the southern s rlandet region; Trondheim is the big university town and Troms is the friendly and most northerly city. All the cities are built beside the sea, with boats a major feature of life. Norway has good travel links with many hubs in Europe, like London, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Frankfurt, which have connections to America, Asia, etc. There are also several good places to start exploring. It is just an hour or two flight time from the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Holland, with many other connections not so far away. There are ferries from Denmark, Sweden and Germany - the links to Britain ended in 2008, until at least 2014 (see here for more info ). in late 2013 it looked like a possibility but then it went quiet again. World class AttractionsAlso check out all the special events and festivals - Stavanger was the European Capital of Culture in 2008 Holidays and short breaksAccommodationOur hotel search and booking system will return every room available in your area for your dates, and includes hotels you won't find anywhere else.
