Travel by train from Munich to Paris has been considerably optimized thanks to a new high-speed TGV train service connecting the two cities in approximately 6 hours. Non-direct trains usually stop in Stuttgart, with total travel time just over six hours as well.

In smooth traffic conditions, it can take 7.5 hours or more to get to Paris from Munich by car, but it can be a nice way to see some picturesque stretches of Germany and Eastern France. Expect to pay somewhat hefty toll fees at several points throughout the trip, though.
