Bing Travel App Review - Travel Resources Search Engine - AppAppeal

Bing Travel gives users a single resource to find many things related to travel. The site helps user save money and search for accommodations, flights and more. Users can chose between various tabs, including travel, flights, hotels, deals, destinations and resources. Each presents its own list of helpful tools to plan a trip or save money while away from home. The travel page allows the user to toggle between flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises and vacation packages. Each includes numerous fields to enter search criteria to help the user locate the perfect option for their travel plans and budget. The deals page includes featured airfare to popular destinations along with rising or falling fares indicators. Users can also gather information about specific travel destinations, such as locales in North America, Europe and the Caribbean.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

Bing Travel is a part of Bing, which was formerly Microsoft’s Live Search (also known as Windows Live Search or MSN Search). Listed as a “decision engine,” Bing was introduced on May 28th, 2015 by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. On July 29th, 2015, it was announced that Microsoft and Yahoo! had struck a deal that would include Bing powering Yahoo! Search .

Bing Travel helps direct users to many helpful travel related resources. In reality, the application is not terribly unique. There are many travel related websites that offer many of the same features. Some only offer a few, but there are those that have just as many options as Bing Travel. That is not to say that Bing Travel isn’t an effective option, however it is not the only option out there available to users who plan to travel.

The Bing Travel website looks much like other Bing related applications. The site features the familiar blue and orange Bing logo along with a stylish, faded grey top and white background. The site is generally well organized and does not contain nearly as much clutter as other travel websites sometimes like to cram into each page. Users can navigate through the six links positioned across the top of the page. When selected, the link turns orange, making it easy for the user to know where they are on Bing Travel at all times.

User do not have to register for Bing Travel to access resources or search functions. The site is always available. Users can sign in and may be automatically signed in if they are logged in to Facebook. Users can also sign in through their Windows Live ID if they prefer to do so. To sign in, the user can click the white “Sign In” link at the top, right hand corner of the homepage. The user is given the option of the two previously mentioned log in methods.

Bing Travel is much like other similar sites and does not require a subscription fee for access. Anyone can stop by and browse the site for free. An account is not required either, making Bing Travel a convenient option for anyone that wants an easy way to plan a trip or look for airfare rates.

Bing Travel is a tool for anyone planning a trip. The site includes tools that are ideal for any kind of traveler, from vacationers to business travelers. The site is also very easy to use and can be accessed with or without an account.
