1 out of 5. reviewed on Apr 03, 2015 I was injured on a recent trip in a remote location where I had poor access by phone and their emergency number was misdirecting to another business. Be aware that Allianz does not allow contact by any means other than phone, so I had to email another person to phone them and relay my story and get Allianz to contact me by email. This occurred, but they insisted that I make contact by phone. Read more Eventually I was able to do so after travelling a few days to a phone. Once I could get through I explained the particular treatment recommended by the medico. Allianz said it would get straight back to me for approval. In the meantime I personally paid for the treatment as the Allianz PDS requires me to minimise their costs - i was fixed medically in two days for a few hundred dollars only and back on my trip. A week and a half later I received an email telling me that Allianz would not approve the treatment! My argument in reply was that I was fixed in two days rather than stay in a hotel at Allianz much greater cost to await their response and then seek treatment. Regardless of me fixing the problem and saving Allianz much greater cost it will not pay. It is now some some 6 months later, the matter is still not resolved, I have been given the biggest run around of all time - lost emails, fail to reply, repetitive and unrelated queries, rude staff and much more. Do yourselves a favour and NEVER even consider using Allianz - they will use every trick in the book to not pay and waste heaps of your time to try and get you to give up i suspect.
