Allianz Travel Insurance is a division of Allianz Global Assistance, an insurance and risk management company founded in 1891 in Munich, Germany. Formerly known as Access America. Allianz Travel adopted the name of its parent company in early 2015 as part of a global rebranding effort undertaken by Allianz Global Assistance.

Allianz Travel provides international travel insurance for business and leisure trips. They have offices in 28 different countries and work with a wide range of brands, including Orbitz, American Airlines, Disney Cruise Line and Delta Airlines.

Travel Insurance Package Plans

Allianz offers three standard packages: Basic, Classic and Deluxe. All of these plans provide trip cancellation protection of up to the amount purchased and trip interruption protection of up to the amount purchased for the Basic plan or up to 150% of amount purchased for the Classic and Deluxe plans. Each plan also features the following benefits:

• Emergency medical and dental (Basic: $10,000; Classic: $25,000; Deluxe: $50,000)
• Emergency medical transportation ($50,000; $500,000; $1,000,000)
• Baggage coverage ($500; $1,000; $2,500)
• Baggage delay coverage ($100; $300; $600)
• Travel or trip delay coverage ($150; $800; $1,500)

The Classic and Deluxe packages also offer missed connection coverage, change fee coverage and frequent traveler/loyalty plan coverage. Collision or Loss Damage Insurance and Travel accident coverage of up to $50,000 are available with the Deluxe package .

Available Medical Travel Plans

Emergency medical, dental coverage and emergency medical transportation are included in all standard packages. Travelers can also purchase separate medical evacuation coverage with multi-trip plans that cover trips of up to 3, 6 or 12 months in length. These insurance plans cover $1,000,000 in emergency medical transportation fees and offer additional benefits, such as 24-hour hotline assistance, concierge services and travel arrangements after evacuation.

Allianz offers a free online quotes as well as a 10-day free trial for interested customers. If at the end of the trial customers are not satisfied, they can cancel their subscription and receive a refund of their insurance premium.

Customers in need of vacation or honeymoon travel insurance can purchase single trip plans that provide rental car damage protection and drive protection against accidents, theft and bad weather.

Frequent travelers have the option of multi-trip plans that feature tailored benefits, such as extended medical evacuation coverage, annual travel protection for leisure travelers, or annual business traveler protection. Annual Travel Protection provides coverage comparable to the Classic plan for a period of one year; the Annual Business Traveler Protection plan features a range of policies, from the Executive plan to the Road Warrior plan, for those who have to travel five-to-six or more times per year.
