  • High Speed Trains require compulsory reservations and are included in the ticket price
  • Many Regional Trains offer 2nd class only and seats are not able to be reserved. Your ticket or rail pass will cover the entire journey so you can simply board the train after validation at the platform and find a seat.

Frecciarossa trains - trains connecting Turin-Milan-Bologna-Rome-Naples-Salerno on the high speed line. The trains reach the speed up to 360 km/h.

Frecciargento - trains connecting Rome to Venice, Verona, Bari/Lecce, Lamezia Terme/ReggioCalabria on the high speed lines and traditional lines. Frecciargento trains reach up to 250 Km/h speed.

Frecciabianca - trains connecting Milan to: Venice, Udine e Trieste; Genoa and Rome; down to Bari, Lecce on the traditional line. Frecciabianca trains can reach speed of 200 km/h.

Frecciabianca trains connect Milan to Venice, Udine e Trieste; Genova e Rome; Bari and Lecce. Speed and comfort for passengers travelling on the traditional line.

Other Eurostar Italia - trains conencting Rome to Ancona, Genoa, Lamezia Terme, Reggio Calabria, Perugia, Ravenna, Rimini, Taranto.

Air-conditioned carriages

Welcome service, which provides a sweet or savoury snack and hot or cold drink, served directly at your seat by uniformed personnel (on some routes only).

On the morning trains, travellers will also be offered a daily newspaper.

Access to Eurostar Club-reserved mini-lounges: in Bari, Bologna, Florence, Milan, Naples, Padova, Reggio Calabria, Rome. Turin, Venice (S. Lucia).

Other onboard services

Coffee bar service complete with fresh sandwiches, snacks, drinks, desserts and hot and cold drinks.

Sit-down restaurant service with full menu on some routes. The meal assortment is changed often and in keeping with the seasons. To book lunch or dinner, simply ask the on board personnel who will ask passengers in the first-class carriage shortly before the service commences

Intercity - trains connecting major and minor cities in Italy to meet the different mobility requirements of medium to long distances. The Intercity trains can reach up to 200 Km/h.

Regional trains

The local transport fleet is made up overall of about 4,800 carriages, 800 locomotives and over 2,200 light stock (electric and diesel locomotives with towed carriages).

At international level are connections with Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Croatia, Slovenia, Prague and Budapest. Reduced journey times, excellent comfort and quality services sum up day and night travel in Europe.
