Indochina Travel Booking

Indochina or Indo-China is a peninsula in Southeast Asia lying roughly southwest of China, and east of India. The name has its origins in the French Indochine as a combination of the names of "India" and "China", referring to the location of the territory between those two countries, though the majority of people in the region are neither Chinese nor Indian. The term may also be used in biogeography for the "Indochinese Region", a major biogeographical region within the Indomalaya ecozone.

The countries of mainland Southeast Asia received cultural influence from both India and China to varying degrees. Some cultures, such as those of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand are influenced mainly by India with a smaller influence from China. Oth ... Read more »

Hey, I see no one has responded to you, which is wrong. I went to college and earned 3 certificates in Travel in 2008. I started a home-based business through a host agency for a brief time. If you have a good host agency that is legit, and that pays a good commission split (with low fees), and that has good training and a good reputation, you could do o.k. But, you have to hustle to find your business, and you are in competition with the internet. How to pick the Right Travel Insurance

To travel worry-free, it is best to buy a travel insurance before you hop onto a plane. But sourcing for an affordable policy can be time consuming especially when you need to compare the benefit limits of each travel insurance. Singapore has many travel insurance plans, thus this makes the comparison even more tedious.

How to travel by train across Europe

Agatha Christie pointed out the romance of travelling by train. And while we may not want to shell out on the luxury of the Orient Express, we can at least indulge ourselves in a touch of exotic travel by rail in Europe — without breaking the bank.

An InterRail Pass  provides unlimited travel on Europe s trains for a given period in up to 30 countries (non-EU citizens, use Eurail Pass instead).

Once, the InterRail Pass was used predominantly by students with time on their hands during university vacations and the desire to travel cheaply. But today, in these green times, it has become a fashionable mode of travel for all – and the pass provides maximum flexibility.

Here s how it works. You buy a pass for a single country or a Global pass for up to 30 countries depending where you wish to visit. The card is valid for travel within a given period — say, any five days in ... Read more »

travel

The word travel has come to exemplify a common spelling quandary: to double or not to double the final consonant of a verb before adding the ending that forms the past tense ( –ed ) or the ending that forms the present-participle ( –ing. ) We see it done both ways—sometimes with the same word ( travel, traveled, traveling; travel, travelled, travelling ). As readers, we accept these variations without even thinking about them. But as writers, we need to know just when we should double that final consonant and when we should not. Because American practice differs slightly from British practice, there is no one answer. But there are well-established conventions.

Keep yourself updated on airfare wars by watching the news and reading the newspaper. Look for limited-time promotional fares from major airlines and airline companies just starting up.

Be flexible in scheduling your flight. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays are typically the cheapest days to fly; late-night flights ('red-eyes'), very early morning flights and flights with at least one stop tend to be discounted as well.

Ask the airline if it offers travel packages to save money in other areas. For instance, is a rental car or hotel room available at a discount along with the airline ticket?

Find out whether the stated fare is the cheapest, and inquire about other options when speaking to the airline reservations clerk. If you're using the Internet, check more than one Web site and compare rates.

How to travel around the world in 80 days

by David Eimer Jun 03 2013

In Jules Verne's classic adventure novel, Phileas Fogg had a devil of a time trying to travel around the world in 80 days. But in the 21st century, circumnavigating the globe has become a bit of a breeze: all you need is a round-the-world (RTW) ticket. In fact, a dedicated (if masochistic) traveller could squeeze it into a few jet-lagged days.

If you have 80 to spare, though, you have enough time for a life-changing trip, and the opportunity to visit places that will stay with you forever. But careful planning is essential if you're going to make the most of your precious time.

Ask almost anyone in the travel industry about changing a name on an airplane ticket and the response will be: You can't. Sometimes that is the case. If your name changed, or is misspelled on the ticket, you may be able to get it changed. However, it is extremely unlikely that the airline will allow you to transfer a ticket to someone else. Exceptions are made, though, and rather than accept the no-name-change policy as absolute, there are steps you can take to try and get the name on the ticket corrected.

Here are a few complications that may occur if you take the 18.36 Regionale Veloce on a Sunday evening from Verona (Porta Vescovo) to Milan (Centrale). Your underlying problem is that this is a small station where the fast through trains from Venice to Milan don t stop.

How to Get Cheap Flights

TWO HUNDRED YEARS ago the cost was seven years to a lifetime of servitude for average people making a one-way crossing of the Atlantic. Now it can be funded by a few days of waiting tables.

When booking through an agent, always specify you want the lowest possible fare, as there may be specials which do not fall under economy or APEX. Moreover, not every agent--even with the budget specialists listed below--will be equally competent or motivated to find the cheapest ticket. They may not know about a great deal the next cubicle has been selling all week, or the commission may not merit bothering much.

Likewise, buying a ticket on the Internet is not the same as getting the cheapest price. As with any travel agent, you may be offered the lowest price, an average price, or a test price. You still have to make comparisons and move boldly when a deal presents itself. A good strategy is to book the best-value, fu ... Read more »

How to plan a round-the-world trip

by Sarah Baxter Mar 20 2012

Itʼs the ultimate trip: circumnavigating the planet, and stopping off wherever takes your fancy. Great for travellers who want to see it all, or who are just plain indecisive. But booking a round-the-world (RTW) trip can be a complex business. Hereʼs our guide to getting started.

How to do it

The most economical way to circumnavigate is to buy a round-the-world air ticket that uses one airline alliance. Theoretically, any routing is possible, but knowing how the RTW booking system works will make your trip cheaper. For example, the Star Alliance, a coalition of 27 airlines, offers a RTW ticket with a maximum of 15 stops. Its member airlines fly to 1185 airports in 185 countries.

There are rules: you must follow one global direction (east or west – no backtracking); you must start and finish in the same country; and you must book all your flights before ... Read more »

How To Make A Fake Return Plane Ticket

As a result of globalization and the rise of economic asylum seekers, more and more countries are tightening their borders. Policy has become stricter and the amount of immigration officers with large pinecones lodged in their butts has increased dramatically.

In order to convince these nationalistic, power hungry, and pinecone plagued individuals that you do not plan to work or mooch off of their society, it’s never a bad idea to show proof of onward travel. It also doesn’t hurt to illustrate proof of sufficient funds.

But if you’re making money with a blog like me and only ever buy one way tickets and head out with just enough cash for the next month, you’re going to need to know how to fake it.

How to Find Cheap Flights Online

Dec 04, 2014 | Updated Feb 03, 2015

U.S. News Travel U.S. News World Report Travel

Booking a flight online can be an aggravating process. After checking for discounts, figuring out the best time to fly, deciding which route to take and making sure the price is right, you're still left wondering if you scored the cheapest fare.

I've booked more than 100 flights since 2012, including a $22 flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Singapore; a $27 fare from Seoul, South Korea to Osaka, Japan; and a $44 flight from Copenhagen, Denmark to Helsinki.

There's no question that affordable flights are out there, but they won't come knocking on your door; you'll have to do some research.

Check multiple websites

Unfortunately, there isn't one magical website selling the cheapest flights. To find the best deal, you'll have to search on multiple sites. Star ... Read more »

Fly on the right day

Brits on holiday are predictable creatures. We like to fly at the end of the working week or weekend, making Friday and Sunday two of the most expensive days to book flights, according to the website CheapFlights.co.uk.

Analysis from that website shows that the cheapest days to fly are Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. So if you can be flexible about when you leave, you have a better chance of snapping up the lowest-priced seats.

Likewise, flying out at an unpopular time (think very early in the morning or after dinner) can also reduce demand for the cheapest seats, giving you a better chance of snapping them up.

How to find a cheap hotel room

Want a hotel room but can't be bothered to search the multiple reservation sites? The new breed of comparison sites, such as Trivago, Kayak and Travelsupermarket.com, promise to do the shopping around for you.

But a Guardian Money price check has found that no single site produces guaranteed best prices – and that travellers should check all three before buying.

Trivago is spending millions on a TV advertising campaign where a couple search for a room in Barcelona. We compare over 100 websites to find your ideal hotel at the best price, says the voiceover. But despite promising to find the best price, some of the comparison sites lead holidaymakers into paying significantly over the odds.

For example, we tested prices for a long weekend in Seville this September. Trivago found 14 websites offering rooms at the three-star Itaca hotel, and said the cheapest was Travel Republic, at 75 a night. Kayak listed eigh ... Read more »

Overlapping coverage

Almost $2 billion in travel insurance is sold each year for several what ifs: You need to cancel a trip because of illness, the death of a relative, or bad weather; your belongings are lost or stolen; your traveling companion dies; or you need emergency medical care. Premiums depend on the age of the travelers, the type of coverage, and the trip’s cost. For a standard policy you’ll pay about 5 to 7 percent of the cost of the trip, according to the Insurance Information Institute. Tour operators, cruise-line reps, and travel agents sell two-thirds of the travel policies, and they collect commission on them.

But coverage may be unnecessary if you already have protection through homeowners, auto, life, or health insurance. Credit-card benefits and consumer-protection laws also may help. Bob Hunter, director of insurance at the Con ... Read more »

Thanksgiving is the busiest holiday of the year for the airline industry. High travel demand means full seats and, presumably, full coffers for the airlines. But how do they decide how much to charge passengers?

An airline will adjust its ticket prices on a minute-by-minute basis, depending on what competitors are charging. But how do they know the other guys' prices? Each airline enters its rates into the Airline Tariff Publishing Co.  computer system, which in turn supplies information about all the others. Plus, most airlines supply their rates and flight availability to booking systems used by travel agents and online travel sites, called Global Distribution Systems.

There is generally not one set rate for a flight, but a range of prices depending on when you buy your ticket. The airline industry engages in "yield management " to adjust how many tickets it sells and for how much, according to the buyer and the ... Read more »

Secret #1: Call the airline you want to fly on - many of the airlines will give you lower rates that you can get on sites such as Travelocity, Expedia, Hotwire, etc. Why? Because these sites are acting like travel agents and get some sort of fee from the airline for processing the reservation. The airlines simply pass some of the savings on to people who contact them directly. I have saved as much as 5-15% so its definitely worth making the phone call.

Great Travel Promotions and Getaway Deals with MISA Travel at Travel Revolution Fair 2015

Super long days with most of the time spent travelling in the tour bus, lack of flexibility to explore the city on our own, changing hotels everyday – these are reasons why we don’t take up typical tour packages and instead plan our own trips. The prices for such tour packages are however much affordable compared to travelling on our own if you factor in the airfare and accommodation – I guess that’s because the tour agencies have bulk discount rates with the airlines and hotels.

Thus, I was pleasantly surprised with MISA Travel’s brand new Group “GO” Flexi packages which gives you the best of both worlds – ample free time and flexibility to explore the destination on your own and yet enjoy value for money rates for airfares and room. You will still be travelling in a group but will be given time to explore the city before reconvening with the grou ... Read more »

Top tips to save your cash while shopping abroad

Shopping while traveling is fun, but it’s worth making sure you have enough money saved to continue enjoying your trip, as well as avoiding crippling debts or credit problems when you get back home.

Take a look at the do’s and don’ts below to help you stay out of financial trouble on your travels.

    Do:

    • Check the currency exchange rate – it may be favorable for you, or it may be prohibitively expensive, so check before you buy.
    • Buy your local currency before traveling – this is cheaper than buying in your hotel or a local bank.
    • Set a realistic budget and stick to it – save your cash for the essentials and emergency funds.

The Dangers of Independent Contractor Travel Agent Misclassification

You may not think of this as important when vetting out your host agencies, but making sure the host agency follows the independent contractor rules of the government is as important of a question as how much it costs to join or what the commission split is. Being an independent contractor travel agent and an employee is important to differentiate.

    Why Should Misclassification Concern You?

If the host agency is audited and found to have misclassified their independent contractor travel agents, the fines and back taxes add up to a huge price tag. It s not pretty. 11 Ideas for How To Save on Flights

I’ve always heard conflicting advice on paying  for a flight. Some swear you need to book as early as possible to get the best price, while others say last-minute deals are the best bargain. Even though this remains unpredictable, there are still great ways you can save on airfare. When you are booking your next flight, keep these eight money-saving tips in mind to get the best price for airfare:

    Shop midweek.

Just like there are certain days at the grocery store that always seem to have a bargain, you’ll see the same is true with with airlines. Many airlines release sales on Tuesdays and Wednesdays since they are the least popular days of the week people are shopping for flights. “Monday night is when the major airlines announce sales. Into Several Remote Nations of the World

    (1726)

    The Publisher to the Reader:

[As given in the original edition.]

The author of these Travels, Mr. Lemuel Gulliver, is my ancient and intimate friend; there is likewise some relation between us on the mother s side. About three years ago, Mr. Gulliver growing weary of the concourse of curious people coming to him at his house in Redriff, made a small purchase of land, with a convenient house, near Newark, in Nottinghamshire, his native country; where he now lives retired, yet in good esteem among his neighbours.

Although Mr. Gulliver was born in Nottinghamshire, where his father dwelt, yet I have heard him say his family came from Oxfordshire; to confirm which, I have observed in the churchyard at Banbury in that county, several tombs and monuments of the Gullivers.

Before he quitted Redriff, he left the custody of the following papers in my hands, with the liberty to dis ... Read more »

    Gulliver s Travels

I am still on the classics kick as you can see! After the mammoth Bleak House, I thought the relatively slim Gulliver s Travels would be a cakewalk. Not true at all! In some ways, this was a more challenging read.

    Anyway, on to the synopsis

Gulliver s Travels really is a compilation of 4 different journeys:

    • Journey to Liiliput
    • Journey to Brobdingnag
    • Journey to Laputa, Balnibarbi, Luggnagg, Gluggdubdrib and Japan
    • Journey to the land of the Houyhnhnms

Lilliput: This is the most popular story, and one that I read (an abridged version) in childhood. Of course at that time, the satire went completely over my head. This time, things were a lot more understandable ... Read more »

Growth of Rail Travel in UK

I am currently writing a Revision Guide for OCR Economics A Level. For this, I ve been doing some research into transport markets.

Three interesting graphs from Social Trends vol 40.

    Cost of Rail Travel

Interesting to note that the cost of train and buses has increased much faster than overall cost of using cars (this overall cost includes MOT, Purchase, tax, petrol, running costs e.t.c.). The figures go until 2009, so don t include recent surge in price of petrol. But, it shows that the growth in rail travel has occured despite rising prices.

Why Has Demand for Train Travel Increased Despite Higher Prices?

Time is Money. On many journeys, increased road congestion has led to longer journey times in the car. On the other hand rail journeys have been improved by electrification of some lines and improved signalling. Therefore, the shorter journey time has made it relatively ... Read more »

    'Gulliver's Travels' Review

    The First: Gulliver s Travels

The travels that are referenced in Swift s title are four in number and always begin with an unfortunate incident that leaves Gulliver shipwrecked, abandoned, or otherwise lost at sea. On his first misadventure, he is washed up on the shores of Lilliput and awakes to find himself tied down by a hundred tiny threads. He soon realizes that he is a captive in a land of tiny people; compared to them, he is a giant.

    The Third: Gulliver s Travels

On his third voyage, Gulliver pass through a number of lands, including one whose people literally have their head in the clouds. Their land floats above the normal Earth. These people are refined intellectuals who spend their time in esoteric and entirely pointless pursuits while others live below--as slaves.

    Gulliver's Travels Introduction

    In A Nutshell

You might have heard people call Gulliver's Travels a satire. A satire is a (generally funny) fictional work that uses sarcasm and irony to poke fun at the general patheticness of humanity – our weakness, our stupidity, all that jazz. Some of our favorite satires include The Onion and The Daily Show . But if you love twenty-first century satire (like we do), you should check out the eighteenth century – those guys were huge fans of a good satire. In fact, some of the greatest thinkers of the eighteenth century, including poet Alexander Pope, mathematician John Arbuthnot, and our main man, Jonathan Swift. could not get enough satire. They even started a club, the Scriblerus Club. to express their general contempt for humanity and for bad writing in particular.

Thus, we think it's fair to say that the early eighteenth century was a good time for haters. ... Read more »
