#Turkey - Lonely Planet

A richly historical land with some of the best cuisine you will ever taste, scenery from beaches to mountains and the great city of İstanbul .

why i love turkey

By James Bainbridge, Author

Turkey's charm lies somewhere between its stunning landscapes such as Cappadocia; the constant surprises provided by its storied history; and the hearty locals, who are always ready to chat over a çay or Efes beer. As the old Turkish saying goes: 'A cup of coffee commits one to 40 years of friendship.' This proverb nails the addictive qualities of the Turkish lifestyle, enjoyed by people who are blessed with a land of ancient bazaars and sandy beaches, magnificent ruins and soaring mountains – and who are keen to make sure visitors love it as much as they do.

Landscapes & Activities

The greatest surprise for first-time visitors to Turkey is the sheer diversity found between its Aegean beaches and eastern mountains. In İstanbul. yo ... Read more »

#Turkey Travel

A mesmerizing mix of the exotic and the familiar, Turkey is much more than its clichéd image of a “bridge between East and West”. Invaded and settled from every direction since the start of recorded history, it combines influences from the Middle East and the Mediterranean, the Balkans and Central Asia. Mosques coexist with churches, Roman theatres and temples crumble near ancient Hittite cities, and dervish ceremonies and gypsy festivals are as much a part of the social landscape as classical music concerts or football matches.

The friendliness of the Turkish people makes visiting a pleasure; indeed you risk causing offence by declining invitations, and find yourself making friends through the simplest of transactions. At the big resorts and tourist spots, of course, this can merely be an excuse to sell you something, but elsewhere, despite a history in which outsiders have so often brought trouble, the warmth and generosity are genuine.

Travel insurance is a must if you are planning a holiday because it can offer a financial lifeline if something goes wrong. You might, for example, lose your luggage, have an accident, fall ill or even have to cancel the trip. It's absolutely vital to have insurance cover, so is single trip insurance right for you?

Single trip or multi trip? What's best?

Whether you decide to go for a single trip policy or invest in an annual policy will depend on how often you plan to travel in the year.

You can buy a policy for a single trip, usually of no more than 30 days, or you can opt for annual insurance, so you are covered for any number of holidays throughout the year. It's always a good idea to compare prices for both types of cover. But as a general rule, annual cover is more cost effective if you plan to travel long haul and take more than two or thr ... #ID - Value Your Trailer - Vintage Camper Trailers Trailers Magazine

What is a trailer worth?

The question that I get asked most often about trailers is about their value. Both the sellers and buyers of tin cans ask me for my advice. If they are selling a trailer; they of course want to get as much as they can for their treasure. If they are a buyer, they want to be sure they are getting a good deal on their new baby. I have collected vintage camper trailers now for over 6 years. I have bought several, sold a few and watched the market on a daily basis for many years. My opinion comes from the many contacts I have made through The Vintage Camper Trailers website, facebook page and publication as well as the face-to-face interaction I have had with 100 s of trailerites at car shows and rallies every year.

More than any other factor the market dictates the price. With a limited supply and a growing demand, trailer values seem to be rising. There is no trailer blueboo ... Read more »

#Top 35 Complaints and Reviews about Cosco Strollers

Consumer Complaints Reviews

My mom purchased a Costco stroller from Walmart for my baby. On more than one occasion, this stroller has pinched my baby's arm. It left a rather large mark on her that bled and took about a week to heal. The other marks weren't as bad, but this stroller is supposed to be safe for a baby. I am quite angry actually that my baby was hurt by this stroller. I have now cut a pool noodle and placed it over the sides of the stroller so that it can't pinch her anymore. I should not have had to do this.

#Single Travel: Tips for Going Solo

Single Travel: Tips for Going Solo

People who have never traveled alone often describe their first solo trip as an almost religious experience. To take in new surroundings unfiltered by the prejudices, tastes or preferences of a traveling companion can be heady stuff. Traveling alone gives you the chance to indulge yourself fully.

Of course, single travel has its perils too -- such as safety concerns, loneliness and the dreaded single supplement. But a little preparation and common sense can save you money and get you through the rough spots.

Why Travel Alone?

Solo travel can be the ultimate in self-indulgence; you can rest when you want and pour it on when you're feeling ambitious. Another benefit is that your mistakes are your own, and your triumphs all the more exciting. There's no worrying that your insistence on trekking all the way across town to a museum that was closed ruined your partner's day; it's your ... Read more »

#Six best travel-booking tricks you re not using

Peter Dazeley | Getty Images

Booking travel: You're doing it wrong.

It took time after the recession, but Americans are traveling more these days. Leisure travel is expected to rise 1.9 percent this year, to more than 1.63 billion trips, according to the U.S. Travel Association. But travel costs are rising, too, with the average airfare creeping closer to the $400 mark and PKF Hospitality Research predicting hotels' profits will surpass their prerecession peak this year.

1) Search solo

A quirk of travel-booking systems is that they will show the lowest fare available to seat your entire party, said Rick Seaney, chief executive of FareCompare.com. "Everyone's fare is the same price," he said. So if there are two of the very cheapest seats left, one that's a little more expensive and four that are pricier still, it's only that last option that will show up in your family of four's searc ... #Restaurants in Boston

In a city synonymous with tradition, Boston chefs have spent recent years rewriting culinary history. The stuffy, wood-paneled formality is gone; the endless renditions of chowdah. lobster, and cod have retired; and the assumption that true foodies better hop the next Amtrak to New York is also—thankfully—a thing of the past. In their place, a crop of young chefs have ascended,

opening small, upscale neighborhood spots that use local New England ingredients to delicious effect. Traditional eats can still be found (Durgin-Park remains the best place to get baked beans), but many diners now gravitate toward innovative food in understated environs. Whether you're looking for casual French, down-home Southern cooking, some of the best sushi in the country, or Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches, Boston restaurants are ready to deliver. Eclectic Japanese spot o ya and iconic French restaurant L'Espalier have garnered widespread attention, while a coterie o ... Read more »

#Lufthansa makes flight booking sites add fee - BBC News

By Leo Kelion Technology desk editor

3 June 2015

Customers are likely to find it cheaper to book Lufthansa flights from its own website

Lufthansa Group is to introduce a surcharge for customers who buy its flights through third-party websites.

The 16-euro ($17.80; £11.60) fee is likely to deter travellers from completing bookings on services including Expedia, Opodo and ebookers.

It marks the latest effort by the airline industry to steer customers towards its own websites.

One expert said this not only helped cut airlines' costs but also allowed them to promote add-on services.
