Child 2.55 Season TicketsSeason tickets are a special kind of ticket that allow you to make unlimited travel between two stations or within a zone over a specified time period. They tend to be associated with commuters heading into London but they are available between almost any two stations for short to medium length journeys. The tickets are very flexible. You can get them for one week, one month or any time period between one month and one year. They make the best savings when you plan to do a particular journey at least three or four times a week. However, if you plan to do a journey sometimes as few as two times in one week they can be cheaper than buying individual tickets. These are heavily discounted tickets so there are no further railcard discounts offered on their cost. However there are child discounts available at a rate of 50% off the usual prices. Are they available for my journey and how much will it cost? National Rail provide a season ticket calculator so you can find out if they are available for your journey and how much it will cost. Who will find them useful? People travelling regularly to and from work, college or school can make good savings. They are also useful if you have to commute for a short period only, say you are working in a new location for one week only. If you know that you'll be making the journey for more than one week, take the monthly or longer pass instead as these offer greater savings. Can I add bus travel to a Season Ticket? Yes, PLUSBUS season tickets are available to 170 towns and cities across Britain. They are valid for set periods to match your train season ticket: 7-days; 1-month; 3-months and 1-year and give you unlimited bus travel on all participating bus operators services around your origin, or destination town. Do I need to travel on a particular route? Yes, if you have a choice of route then your season ticket will usually specify the route and / or train company that you need to use. Some allow you to use other services and will state this. How do I get one of these tickets? Take a passport photo along to your nearest staffed station and you can get your ticket. Some companies sell them by phone or internet but you need to have your photocard first anyway (so you need to visit the station first time you buy one), so ask about that option to saving you queuing for renewing your card.
