"This letter is reflective of my complete support in my recent associate with Mr. Mark Moorhead and The Travel Agent, Inc. It is one of the best moves I have made in my profession and it has turned out to be much better than I had originally anticipated. Mr. Moorhead has more than met my expectations. He has been more than fair with me and has allowed me to keep my autonomy. I feel so welcome whenever I call into his office."

"I joined the Travel Agent in 1997 as an inside agent. In 2000 my husband was transferred to St. Louis, MO. I have remained an

Independent Contractor ever since. I was anxious about the distance at first but that has not been an issue. I just miss my friends at The Travel Agent."

What life is like as a luxury travel advisor

For a select group of fortunate Americans, the quest for better is all about doing what you love and getting paid for it! We've been talking to some people who have "dream jobs," you know, the type of career you never knew existed because it sounds so cool. Or maybe it just sounds like too much fun, so you think, "how can I get that job?" Well after reading this article and watching the short video and you still feel that way give Mark a call.

Ansley Thomas has one of those jobs. She's a luxury travel planner. She travels around the world to experience the most luxurious destinations so that she can find the perfect fit for each of her clients.

Like The Travel Agent, Inc. in Carmel Indiana. Ansley Thomas is a luxury travel agent with Virtuoso. a full-service travel firm that works with both corporate and leisure consumers. Thomas gets to jet-set around the world, getting to know every corner of various destinations so she can use her knowledge to plan the perfect trip for her clients. Is that a dream job or what?

Of course, such a packed travel schedule comes with some drawbacks. Here, she explains why the perks outweigh the cons.

How did you decide to become a luxury travel agent?

Ansley Thomas: I have always loved to travel, and did a lot of traveling with my family growing up. When I was switching careers in 2009, I spoke to someone in this industry and realized that there was a "new age" of travel agents emerging, all based around personal relationships and personal experience, so it seemed like a natural fit.

What is the best perk of your job?

Ansley: Traveling to destinations around the world, experiencing them, so I can create trips for clients that fit their personalities and interests. And along with the travel, I get to meet people from all over the world.

What is the biggest challenge of your job?

Ansley: Since travel is something I'm so passionate about, at times, it can be difficult to balance work and life.

What is the biggest misconception about your job?

Ansley: People think it is going to cost them extra to use a travel professional. In reality, due to SmartFlyer's reputation in the industry, our personal contacts allow me to add value to my client's trips.
