Traveling can be a huge expense in itself and in an economy such as ours everyone is trying to save every penny. When getting ready to take a vacation I always check out all of my options beginning with a search of cheap airline tickets. Searching cheap airline tickets brings up hundreds of websites for you to choose from.

There are always the major ones you see advertised on t.v. all the time such as Expedia and Travelocity. But there are also a lot of other sites that you do not see advertised. I would set aside some time to really explore the world of cheap tickets. I always try to find websites that compare prices between all the airlines. Not only will this save me time but money in the long run. Usually if you are willing to make stops and switch planes at least once or twice you will save on the cost as well. But then you leave open the option of the airline losing your luggage or delaying it in between your arrival.

When looking at an airline now you need to ask these questions: Do they charge for extra bags? Are meals or snacks included if it is going to be a long flight or is there an extra fee for this as well? What about in flight movies? Wifi? With the economy struggling and airlines trying to save money they are finding new ways everyday to nickle and dime the consumer. I would suggest bringing a drink or snack with you in your carry on if they allow. Or make sure that you eat something before you leave for your flight. Also bring a small travel pillow or something to wrap yourself in so that you won\'t have to pay extra for the comfort of a pillow or blanket.

I say if they can find ways to charge for every comfort we should find ways to make ourselves comfortable. I know that the things from my own home will make me more comfortable than anything the airline can provide anyway. There are pro\'s and con\'s to every airline. Taking the time to investigate them all can save you the most money now and give you more for the vacation.
