Schwalbe Marathon Plus Vs Conti Travel Contact

What's the verdict comparing these two tough commuter/tourers with 85 PSI max pressure ratings? For mileage and puncture protection on hardcore city commutes and fine gravel cycle paths?

If anyone is running the Conti CONTACT SECURITY tires, how are they performing. as they seem the nearest to the Marathon Plus for thick inner protective shield and tire weight.

I just put a Vittoria Randonneur Cross 700x35c on the back. This is only 70 PSI (which drops to 60) and even if is a marginally cheaper tire with special puncture protection, 70psi just won't cut it for speed commuting on London roads and very fine abrasive gravel which covers some bitumen cyclepaths.

Worse still, getting it on is impossible without steel levers and the inside circumference is definately short 5mm or so. Such a problem I pinched two tubes fitting it. So there no way you can risk having a flat somewhere and pinch your only spare tube.

I gave the supplier (Wiggle) the batch number of the tire to check quality control at the factory - and they offered to take it back immediately for a refund. Most encouraging. It's service like this that keeps customers.

So now the toss up is between Marathon Pluis and the Travel Contact. Opinions please
