Accident claim - Fully cleared

This review is based on the claim I have made two years ago in an accident I was at fault. After having lodged the case/claim, NRMA has paid out the fixed agreed value on my vehicle without much fuzz. Few days after payout I did receive a call though inquiring the whole story about the accident and ensuring I was not drunk, if there was a police case number etc. A personal injury case was also lodged and was dealt with through a lawyer and got settled to a limited/acceptable payout, even though this can be a grey area when injuries turn out later on, however that s the case with any insurance company/claim.

To be honest I didn t think much of insurance companies before I had to make this claim, I assumed they d do everything they could to avoid paying it.

When my car was damaged, NRMA arranged everything from the tow truck to the repairer quote and eventually the replacement vehicle when it was deemed a total loss.

It was a $70,000 car so you can imagine how devastated I was when it was damaged, but very relieved that NRMA have me covered. There was a few weeks where I was nervous about having to cover the costs myself because insurance companies have a bit of a reputation in the community for not paying out claims.

The assessor was pretty good at keeping me informed during the process and everyone at the call centre was helpful. The person who sorted out the replacement vehicle was also very good.

I haven t got my replacement car yet but it s been ordered, will update this review then.

I ll be switching my home and motorcycle insurance to NRMA because now I know they actually do pay out claims.
