There’s no doubt that Bali is the star of Indonesia, attracting massive crowds in search of an island escape. What’s so special about Bali though is that it’s more than just tropical shores. To escape the sandy shores altogether, head to beautiful and peaceful Ubud, famed for its green and lush location amongst rice paddies and rolling hills. The northern coastline is also a haven for more secluded and quiet getaways.

Couples will love a trip to the local waterfalls and the hot springs near Banjar and Toya Bungkah, kids will love the chance to watch a traditional Balinese dance show, and the whole family will love the fabulous snorkelling on offer at Blue Lagoon and the Gili Islands.
