Air Travel Redemption Schedule

The Air Travel Redemption Schedule applies to economy (and select premium economy) class flights only. For guidelines on redeeming for Business Class or First Class flights, please consult our RBC Rewards FAQs section.

The Air Travel Redemption Schedule is available exclusively to RBC Avion cardholders and eligible RBC Banking account holders. RBC Avion cards include:

• RBC Visa Infinite Avion
• RBC Avion Visa Infinite Privilege
• RBC Avion Visa Infinite Privilege for Private Banking
• RBC Visa Platinum Avion
• RBC Visa Business Avion

RBC Avion cardholders can purchase additional points to use towards air travel. You must have at least half of the required points for your desired zone booking in order to purchase additional points. The minimum amount of points to purchase is 1,000 and maximum is 15,000, and every 1,000 points costs $40 plus applicable taxes. There is a Maximum Ticket Price, (excluding any applicable taxes, surcharges and fees,) in effect for each destination. For example, a shorthaul flight from Vancouver to Edmonton requires 15,000 RBC Rewards points and has a Maximum Ticket Price of $350.

In the event that the base ticket cost exceeds the Maximum Ticket Price (excluding any applicable taxes, surcharges and fees), (for example, if the base fare on a selected shorthaul flight is $400), the additional cost can either be charged to your RBC Avion card or you can use your points to pay the difference at a rate of 100 points = $1.00 CAD.

In addition to the Air Travel Redemption Schedule above, all RBC Rewards credit card holders, including Avion cardholders, may redeem points for an array of travel related purchases including:

• Flights *
• Hotels
• Car Rentals
• Vacation Packages
• Pre-Packaged Vacations
• Cruises

* In addition to the Air Travel Redemption Schedule for Avion cardholders, both Avion and non-Avion cardholders may purchase flights at a rate of 100 points for every $1.00 CAD
