The Keyword Research tool is available in the Alexa Pro Advanced Plans.

Certified Site Metrics are metrics that are directly-measured from the website instead of estimated. The website owner has installed an Alexa Certify Code on the pages of their site and chosen to show the metrics publicly.

For the website owner Certified Metrics provide:

  • A more accurate Alexa Rank
  • A private metrics Dashboard for On-Site Analytics
  • The ability to publish unique visitor and pageview counts if desired

Certified Metrics are available with all Alexa Pro plans.

Not all websites implement our on-site analytics and publish the results. For these sites, we show estimated metrics based on traffic patterns across the web as a whole. We identify these patterns by looking at the activity of millions of web users throughout the world, and using data normalization to correct for any biases.

Its always interesting to see the differences in words that are normal in one language, but have a very different connotation in other languages. Here, Sarah is enjoying a leisure stroll in Cancun, and we run into a Bimbo on the road! Luckily, this is just bimbo bread.

If you are a collector of touristy type things (magnets, ceramics, jewelry, clothing) - then bring an extra bag to put all of your purchases into for the trip home. Sunscreen is the number one item to bring! I got horribly burned and learned my lesson. Otherwise beachwear is a must. Your hotel will provide you with beach towels most likely, so just.

Stoped in a small town on the outskirts of Merida and stayed in a Hacienda. Very different from the usual hotels etc but very interesting and cozy. Took the local transportation. Cost 10 pesos and very efficient for narrow streets. Lots of fun and worth a try. Unforgettable adventure.

Cancun is one of the nicest places you could ever go. I recommend ... Read more »

Volunteer travel. volunteer vacations or voluntourism is travel which includes volunteering for a charitable cause. In recent years, "bite-sized" volunteer vacations have grown in popularity. [citation needed ] Volunteer vacations vary widely in scope, from low-skill work cleaning up local wildlife areas to providing high-skill medical aid in a foreign country. Volunteer vacations participants are diverse but typically share a desire to “do something good” while also experiencing new places and challenges in locales they might not otherwise visit.

There are also other types of traveling that engage people with scientific research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. Participants cover a fee that would include expenses on the different sites worldwide, and engage in projects according to their interest or location.

Flight socks or travel socks are worn to prevent leg pain and cramping, swelling in the ankles and feet, and the formation of blood clots (DVT) when sitting in a confined space for a prolonged period of time, such as a long airplane flight. This is often referred to as Economy Class Syndrome. Travel socks should be tall enough to cover the calf muscle and feature a compression level of 15-20mmHg (moderate or firm).

A 2001 study of people on long haul flights found that 10% of the passengers that did not wear compression socks developed DVT. The group that wore compression socks had none. Read more about traveler's thrombosis .

We have compiled all of our compression hosiery that is suitable for increasing circulation and helping prevent blood clots. You can decide if you prefer natural fibers or synthetics, sheers or sporty socks. Remember - they don't need to be branded as "travel socks" to be effective during long trips.

It's the right time of year to talk about travel as the holiday season is now beginning in most countries north of the equator.

travel/travelling (nouns)

Travel is the general term to describe going from one place to another. We can talk about someone's travels to refer to the journeys he makes:

  • Travelling by boat between the islands is less tiring than travelling by road.

  • I don't do as much travelling as I used to now that I'm retired.
  • Travel often crops up as part of compound nouns. Compare the following:

    • Make sure you keep all your travel documents safely. You can obtain your travel tickets from the travel agents in the High Street if you don't want to order them over the Internet. Every day, a dozen new travel websites start up in hopes of making your trip planning easier, help you meet locals, crowdsource your advice, or save money. And with equal speed as many travel websites fail each day. A lot of travel start ups try to fill a void where none exists. There are just some things that people don’t want, need, or desire. There many are with innovative ideas but are poorly executed and end up floundering.

So, I love apartment rentals. They are an inexpensive alternative to hotels and the next step up from hostels. The problem? There seems to be about 10 million rental websites out there. It s hard to search them all. The solution? Tripping. This website searches about 18 apartment rental sites, including HomeAway, VRBO, FlipKey, Housetrip, Interhome, Roomorama, and Booking. It is a huge, huge time saver. I highly recommend it. The only downside? It doesn’t search Airbnb. You have to do that on y ... Read more »

    Marco Polo and His Travels

"When a man is riding through this desert by night and for some reason -falling asleep or anything else -he gets separated from his companions and wants to rejoin them, he hears spirit voices talking to him as if they were his companions, sometimes even calling him by name. Often these voices lure him away from the path and he never finds it again, and many travelers have got lost and died because of this. Sometimes in the night travelers hear a noise like the clatter of a great company of riders away from the road; if they believe that these are some of their own company and head for the noise, they find themselves in deep trouble when daylight comes and they realize their mistake. There were some who, in crossing the desert, have been a host of men coming towards them and, suspecting that they were robbers, returning, they have gone hopelessly astray. Even by daylight men hear these spirit voices, and often you fancy you are li ... Read more »

A lmost five years ago today, my apartment lease expired, I shipped a few boxes to my mom’s house, packed a suitcase to (hopefully) last me a few months, and took off across the Atlantic. I had less than $1,000 in my bank account.

The first stop was Paris, where, still reeling from breaking up with my girlfriend, selling all of my possessions, and maintaining an online business that was hardly making any money, I proceeded to sulk and gripe my way through the streets of La Ville-Lumiere totally not appreciating what was around me.

Eventually, things got better though. And I moved on. Both from Paris and my own personal pity parade. I moved on to Belgium, then Holland, then Germany, then Prague. I moved back home again only to move on to South America a few months later. Then Southeast Asia after that, then Australia, then Central America, then Eastern Europe, and then South America again.

Over the span of five years, I moved on to 55 separate countries ... Read more »
