#travel and tourism # Associate in Science Degree in Travel and Tourism Students completing this two-year course of instruction will earn an Associate in Science degree with a major in Travel and Tourism with an emphasis in either Marketing, Management, or Destination Development. The degree curriculum in Travel and Tourism provides practical training in all important areas of the field: industry vocabulary, industry reference books, tour and cruise brochure design, common business practices, airline computer operations, airfare constructions, group sales pricing and special interest tour development. Completion of the two-year degree will also provide foundation skills in the areas of computer knowledge, written and spoken communications, psychology, anthropology, marketing and management, and knowledge of specific global tourist destinations. Destination classes focus on travel in specific regions of the world. Students learn about visa requirements, competitive airfares, tour companies that sell specific destinations, and the languages, religious customs, and sightseeing highlights of the region.
