#alfa travel # Alfa Travel Coach Driver of the YearAlfa Travel, always famous for quality, value for money UK and European holidays, is pleased to announce the 2010 Driver of the Year Award has been awarded to Roy Barber. Regular guests will know that a knowledgeable, helpful driver makes all the difference on a coach holiday. What’s more – a coach driver with real character and personality certainly puts the wow factor into a holiday or short break. These are some of the factors that our drivers are graded against which is why the award is all the more special as it is ultimately decided by guests who have travelled and experienced our excellent drivers. Roy Barber (left) being presented the award by Alfa s MD Paul Sawbridge This long running award always generates a lot of excitement and real competitive spirit amongst our new and our more experienced members of the Alfa team. Roy has been with Alfa for over three years but pulled out all the stops for 2010 in order to receive his first award with the company. Now that Roy has had a taste of success he is very keen to keep hold of his number one status. The best place to find our no.1 driver is usually on tours to Scarborough where he enjoys the hospitality of our team at the Cumberland Hotel. Last year’s winner Brian Holmes has been awarded 2nd place for the second year running but is very keen to take Roy off the top spot next year! Dave Forster has been awarded third place, after taking 1st place last year, Roy and Brian have already been warned the Dave will be pulling out all the stops in 2011 to ensure his rise to the top again! Neil McMurdy, Head of Operations advised that the Driver of the Year competition brings out the competitive nature of the drivers, but because it is marked on Customer Skills, Driving and administration areas, it means that it does not preclude any driver from being the winner.
