As I may have mentioned elsewhere on this page, we got back to Cingov, exhausted and tired after a full day's hike only to find we had another 6km still to go. The bus which was supposed to be there at 17.40 was only for July and August - we had forgotten today was the first of September. The next bus at 19.45 was also only for July and Aug so.

Alternate routes for the Central Highway

The Superintendency of Road Transport of People, Freight and Goods (SUTRAN for its acronym in Spanish). advises transport companies, road users and the general public of the following in relation to the Central Highway (Carretera Central):

1. After heavy mud and rock slides on Monday, March 23rd at 4:00 p.m. between kilometers 34 and 51 of the Central Highway, the Highway Patrol ordered that all passenger transport vehicle and light vehicle traffic be suspended to protect travelers safety.
