Budget and Enterprise are secondary suppliers. All four companies provide collision damage and liability insurance coverage for business rentals when the respective ID numbers (provided below) are used. It is recommended that all car rental reservations be booked through Orbitz for Business to ensure that the Yale contract rates and benefits are applied. Yale Travel Services has negotiated special inter-city car rental rates with The Hertz Corporation that provide a flat-rate with no drop-off fee penalties. These new rates will enable Yale travelers to pick up a car at one Hertz station and drop it off at another without the penalty of paying an additional per mileage charge for the amassed miles driven. An inter-city daily rate of $75* (mid-size car) with unlimited mileage will apply nation-wide for all one-way rates so, for example, if you pick up a rental in Los Angeles and drop it in San Diego you will no longer have to pay excessive “drop fees”. If the rental originates in Atlanta, Washington D.C. Boston, Chicago, Detroit, or Philadelphia the inter-city daily rate is $80 *. * A $3.00 surcharge will apply if renting the car for only 1-day on either Mon, Tue, Wed, or Thu. The inter-city rate program does not apply to rentals from the “Hertz Local Edition” neighborhood offices but will apply to all Hertz airport rentals in the 48 contiguous United States. The only price exceptions would be: Renters can now pick up a mid-size rental in New Haven and drop at Bradley International Airport for $37 flat rate with unlimited mileage. Renters can now pick up a rental in Bradley International Airport and drop in New Haven for $47 with unlimited mileage. The inter-city, one-way rate for a mid-size car in New York Metro Tri-State Area** would be $95. So if you’re traveling with colleagues to JFK International, for example, it may be more economically feasible to rent a Hertz car in New Haven and drop it at JFK for $95 rather than pay for private car service. Likewise, a New Haven to Boston inter-city rate of $95 with unlimited mileage would apply. A $3.00 surcharge will apply if renting the car for only 1-day on either Mon, Tue, Wed, or Thu ** Includes LaGuardia, JFK, Manhattan, Newark, White Plains, Stamford, New Haven, and Tri-State area.
