Peak season:

The unique Balinese culture, nightlife and friendly locals attract people of all ages to this special destination. The dry season (June to September) is the peak time for people to book flights to Bali since the weather is hot but not humid. Backpackers and surfers flock to Bali during these months for budget holidays and great waves. July and August are the most popular months for Australian families to visit as they coincide with school holidays.

Off season:

Travel during the wet season (October to March), although not the optimal time to visit, can work out in your favour if you’re looking for cheap flights to Bali. If you don’t mind the humidity and heavy showers for some part of the day there will still be hot and sunny weather, and fewer crowds for sightseeing. Many people choose to stay at a mountain retreat for a refreshing and relaxing experience.

How to get from the airport to the city centre?

Flights to Bali land at Denpasar International Airport (aka Ngurah Rai International Airport) in southern Bali. The main tourist town of Kuta is approximately 12 minutes from the airport. The best way to get from the airport to your destination, or dropped off at your hotel, is by public taxi on a fixed-fare ticket. The ticketing booth is located on the right when you leave the arrivals building. Prices vary depending on your destination but to Kuta the cost is 50,000 rupiah (AUD$5).
