Glenn Said:

Can I sue this collection agency and/or credit bureau for not reporting correct information ?

We Answered:

Yes you can. My Sister did I tried to call her to give you more information, but she was at work, ( Night shift ) She said when she first talked about it that it cost her $220 more than she owed to dispute it Sue, but worth every penny. to restore her credit. rating, filed Something with the BBB To show she invalidated the collection agency. I will put this on my watch list. so recheck tomorrow, I will call her see what she did how she did it, because I know she got it dropped off her record got the court costs reimbursed*

Are collections agencies required to contact you by PHONE before sending your account to the credit bureaus?

6 dollars? That s absurd!

But, alas! They are not required to tell us that we owe anything.

Dispute it.

Tyrone Said:

What is the contact information for the 3 big credit bureaus?

We Answered:

Due to old myths, many people believe that once they have bad credit. it is there forever, and ever, and ever. Well, take it for someone who experienced it first hand. Ive found myself with some bad credit before, but had it removed from my report. How?

1) Paid off what I owed

2) Waited a couple months

3) Wrote a letter to Trans Union. They did not reply to my letter, so I called them (Toll Free 1-877-322-8228)

4) I requested for all three credit reports (Equifax, Experian, Trans Union).

5) I received them thorouhgly, and had a detailed plan of what I would request when calling back.

6) I called once again (Toll Free 1-877-322-8228) and pleaded my case. I explained that the bad credit pile up was just a small bump, and I was usually very promp with payments.

Jimmy Said:

Do I need to do anything else? Someone used my credit card information to shop at Bloomingdales.?

We Answered:

YES. Contact the credit bureaus immediately and put a flag on your report about potential fraud/identity theft. because if the person already got your credit card info. it doesn t mean he/she won t use other numbers or your SSN to open fraudulent accounts in your name. The flag will require anyone opening an account for you to take a second look before granting credit in case it is an imposter.

Hopefully it is just a one time thing, but if they got your info without you losing your card, then you need to suspect them of getting other info as well that they may have just not used yet.
