The new FuelSave Credit Card pays 4 per cent cashback to drivers swiping their card when filling up, plus you clock up 0.5 per cent on all other spends. As an extra sweetener, the deal also includes free annual MOTs for the lifetime of the card, plus drivers without existing AA breakdown membership will receive cover free for a year. However, the card also comes with an annual fee of £42, which isn't far off the government-set maximum car MOT charge of £54.85. Driving down costs: The AA is giving new FuelSave credit cardholders free membership and MOTs In order to benefit from the 4 per cent rate, cardholders must spend at least £500 on the card each month. Those who spend under £500 will receive 2 per cent back on fuel spends. Eligible petrol stations include BP, Tesco, Esso, Murco, Shell, Sainsbury’s, Texaco, Asda, and Morrisons. Spenders can earn a maximum of £150 back on their purchases from the additional 0.5 per cent rate applied to all other purchases on the card.
